Welcome to Kindergarten!
Welcome back! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful break! We've had an interesting start to the New Year. We've had many students absent this week. Any work that your child misses will be put in their take home basket. Let me know if you would like to pick it up and I will send it up to the office. We are working hard to keep everyone safe so we can stay in school! Kindergarten students need to keep their masks on during recess and lunch recess because the don't know how to socially distance while they are playing. They've been doing it all year long and it hasn't been a problem. Kindergarteners are great at reminding each other. Protocols are constantly changing. Please read Mrs. O'Sullivan's e-mails and Monthly Message for updates, also make sure you read our Superintendent, Dr. Bowes' emails for updates. Make sure to read the Weekly Wave as well. Thank you for all your understanding and patience while we work through all the ongoing changes!
We are still able to have parent volunteers in class! Yeah! Please see the sign-up genius from Mrs. Rosenberg (our room mom) to sign up and help in class. Remember, you need to be fully vaccinated and have a TB test to be allowed in class. Hope to see you in class soon!
ClassDojo will be our main way of communication. Please see the Parent Information section on the website for more information on how to set up you and your child's Dojo account. Feel free to e-mail me, but messaging through ClassDojo will be more efficient and I will be able to get back to you more quickly. Important information, reminders, student photos and videos will be posted on the Class Story page.
Sharing is a very important part of Kindergarten. This helps build student confidence when speaking in front of a group. Each student has a specific share day each week. The Sharing Schedule is posted on this website under the Homework tab. This weeks sharing topic is to draw or bring in a picture about the Winter Holiday(s) you celebrate.
